BSJ Blaze to Victory Over Clann Mhuire in Glorious Marlay Park

On a golden April evening that would make the Gods of summer jealous, BSJ’s young ladies lit up Marlay Park with a performance full of swagger, steel, and serious style. Just weeks after a cup loss to the same opposition, the tables turned in dramatic fashion.
From the first whistle, BSJ were on the front foot—pressing high, moving the ball with zip, and harrying their opponents into errors. They owned the middle of the park and ran the show like seasoned pros, racking up an impressive 3-11 in the process. The goals were things of beauty—crafted with slick passing and finished with ruthless precision. The backs were watertight, giving away very little all evening, while the forwards danced and darted through gaps like they’d rehearsed it all on a stage.
The crowd, well-warmed by the sun, roared every score with gusto. There was a sense of occasion in the air: the home turf, the golden light, and the second win of the league campaign all combining to create a buzz that lingered after the final whistle. Even the midges were forgotten as parents and supporters beamed, teammates hugged, coaches praised and in the background the sunset cast long shadows over the Marlay Park pitch that had just seen a masterclass.
For BSJ, it was a positive start to their home league campaign. A really strong performance from a young team that’s developing, that’s full of heart, hunger, and no little skill.
Overall a very satisfying evening for the player group, all of whom contributed to the performance. A special shout out and congratulations to Laura O’Connor for achieving the Player of the Match on the night. So much ground covered (every blade of grass) in so little time, a well-deserved winner.
Next up for the team is a home fixture in Marlay Park versus Templeogue on the 23rd of April.
All support welcome!
