Adult Football Match Report
It was a good mid week for Adult Football with 3 of our 4 teams winning.
Seniors V St Vincents. We got off to a whirlwind start with 2 goals within10 minutes. With excellent attaching movements Aodhan Clabbly got the first and Donnacha Carey the second. However a bit of sloppy defensive play allowed Vins in for a goal. We took command of the game again with a well worked goal by Joe Sweeney and with points by Oisin Grady and Nick Deveroux it gave us a commanding lead of 3-5 to 1-4 at half time. Vins kicked the first two points of the second half before we got our fourth goal. It was a strong run through the middle by Fearghal Duffy and a lay off to Rory Morrin who hand passed it to the net. Our fifth goal was scored by Donnacha Carey who after a strong run brilliantly finished it to the net leaving us 12 points up. Vins got a goal from a very generously awarded penalty to leave the final score 5-8 to 2-8. Best for BSJ was Paddy Connaughton, Oisin Grady, Dave Deveroux, Nicky Deveroux, Fearghal Duffy and Donnacha Carey who finished with a personal tally of 2-2.
Intermediates V Clontarf. It was a critical game for our Inters who lost their previous three games. Against the second placed team in the league we got off to a blistering start. We were 2-6 to 0-1 up after 15 minutes. However after the water break we lost our way and allowed Tarf back into the game , which saw us up by only 4 at HT. The second half was low scoring but we held on for a deserving 3 points win on a scoreline of 2-10 to 2-7

Junior B V Wanderers . We went in at HT 2 points down, 2-4 to 0-8 despite playing all the football. Wanderers goals came at good times for them while we spurned several good opportunities. Wanderers took the lead again with 4 minutes to go but 4 unanswered points from BSJ saw us win by 3 on a scoreline of 0-17 to 2-8.
