Naomh Olaf 1-12 Ballinteer Saint Johns 2 -10
The match, which was played in Páirc Uí Bhriain, was close throughout with only a point or two between the teams at any time. BSJ started the scoring with the first point of the match in the first 3 minutes. Olaf’s came back and scored the next couple of points before BSJ scored another point to leave just one between the teams. Olaf’s had a couple of goal chances saved off the line and came up with the next point to give them a two point lead.
The next score was a nicely timed goal for BSJ just before the half time whistle to give them a one point lead at the break .
The second half continued in similar fashion to the first half with both teams trading points in a real arm wrestle of a match between two very competitive teams.
BSJ’s work rate and effort paid off in the last quarter where they kept Olaf’s attacks at bay and finally came out on top with a well deserved one point win. Hats off to St Olaf’s who never gave up. It was a great game.
