BSJ 1-11 St Judes 3-09

The Junior Ladies put in a determined performance against Judes, battling hard from start to finish in a closely contested match. After conceding an early goal and a couple of points, the team responded well, with Lea Carey opening the scoring with our first point, helping to settle the side. Further scores from Chloe Toher and Nicole McCambridge kept us in touch, but Judes held a narrow lead at the break, 1-6 to 0-5.

At halftime, we introduced some changes to keep the pressure firmly on St Judes. The response was strong, with players continuing the excellent work rate across the pitch, tracking back and pushing forward at every opportunity.

Points from Lea Carey, Chloe Toher, and Sophie Fearon kept the scoreboard ticking, while the team showed great composure and link-up play throughout.

A late surge saw Lea Carey strike for a crucial goal to bring the game right back within reach, along with another point to narrow the gap.

Despite the spirited finish, the team just couldn’t find the final scores needed to secure the win, with the match ending 1-11 to 3-9 in favour of Judes.

Result aside It was great to see Libby and Sophie back on the pitch, and the work rate and excellent teamwork throughout the game.

Penty to build on going forward. We just need to start as we end!
